A short distance away is Canyon Road with its world class art galleries and Santa Fe's newest dining and shopping spot, The Railyard. Stay an extra day and visit one of the nearby Indian Pueblos or the living history museum, El Rancho de las Golondrinas or hike in the Santa Fe National Forest or Bandelier National Monument.

Historic Santa Fe Trails

Historic trails to and from Santa Fe included El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (Mexico City to Santa Fe), the Santa Fe Trail (Independence to Santa Fe) and the Old Spanish Trail (Santa Fe to Los Angeles). Today, each of these trails is part of the National Trails System.
